JOB

Assists in construction, repair and maintenance of electrical cable and equipment.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Maintain a tractor trencher, back hoe, and truck; Paint poles and transformers; Assist in laying electrical pipes, and inserts cables into pipes, manholes, and transformers. Terminates cable and splices; Lay concrete blocks and mixes the cement used; Assist in operating trencher and digs ditches; Operate mower to cut weeds near sub-stations; Assist in operating crane to lift transformers; Maintain aerial bucket truck with truck stock; Perform other related duties in the electric utility industry as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of high school or GED with an additional one year experience in operating specialized motorized hydraulic equipment or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following: Obtain CDL within 30 days; After 6 months will be required to furnish own climbing tools and hand toolsPhysical Exam Required

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Knowledge: Basic understanding of electricity either through experience or literature.Ability to: Communicate effectively with others;Operate a trencher, saws, hand tools, drill press, welder, cutting torch, boom trucks and bucket trucks;Climb a utility pole with climbing tools. Physical RequirementsContinuously lift and carry up to 25 pounds;Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds;Occasionally lit and carry up to 100 pounds;Continuously stand, walk and bend;Frequently climb ladders, stairs or inclined surfaces;Frequently kneel during the shift;Push and pull objects;Occasionally flex upper trunk at the waist and partially flex at the knees;Occasionally rotate upper trunk to the right or left while sitting or standing;Ability to climb utility poles;Place arms at and below shoulder height;Coordinate eye, hand and foot movement in order to operate a crane and boom trucks.
