Description: MoboTrex has an opportunity to join our growing organization as a part-time temporary Welder at our location in Austin, TX. This role welds various sheet metal products (aluminum or stainless steel) in accordance with engineering drawings to produce welded sub-assemblies or finished enclosures. Shift is weekends only on Saturday and Sundays either 6 am-12 noon or 6 am – 2 pm. Work indoors in a climate-controlled environment. Welding test required at interview.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read engineering / specification drawings to obtain information regarding welding dimensions.
  • Perform Gas Metal Arc (MIG) on .06 – .187 thick Aluminum and Stainless-Steel material and Tungsten Metal Arc (TIG) on .06 – .187 thick Aluminum and Stainless-Steel material.
  • Able to set, adjust, regulate, and maintain MIG and TIG welding equipment.

. Requirements: Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED and 2-4 years welding experience. American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welder preferred. Welding test required at interview.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of AWS D9.1 sheetmetal welding code
  • Must be able to pay attention to detail consistently
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of various metals, aluminum, stainless
  • Knowledge & skill with basic sheet metal shop equipment

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and stoop, bend or reach above shoulders
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear and use hands to finger, handle or touch objects or controls
  • Requires repetitive use of hands
