Job purpose:
The pipefitters are responsible for the installation maintenance and repair of low/high pressure piping systems and components. Piping systems that carry oil, steam, water, chemical, fuel, air, LP gas, etc. Other responsibilities include testing of systems, maintain basic fabrication records, produce as needed piping drawings and interpret P&ID’s and specs.

Job would be a camp position working 7 and 7 shift for 80hours per shift.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with the work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
  • Ensure client satisfaction buy following all client regulations/ rules and always providing excellent customer service.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork. Including but not limited to – fabrication documentation, maintenance records, work tickets, JSA’s hazard ID’s, Daily time sheets, inspection documentation, safety procedure documentation.
  • Install new Mechanical equipment, (e.g., pumps, compressors, air dryers, heat exchangers, relief valves etc.)
  • Fit up and prepares piping joints requiring for welding.
  • Coordination of lifting and rigging of equipment into place with the assistance of heavy lifting equipment or buy hand rigging.
  • Bolt up, Measure, cut, and thread piping required using hand tools.
  • Select type and size of piping required.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications include:

  • Hold a Valid recognized Journeyperson Pipefitting/Steam fitting Ticket. (If out of Province ticket must have Red Seal ticket) or indentured in the apprentice program within Alberta
  • Valid class 5 Drivers license
  • Valid H2S alive ticket, CSO/CSTS/PST ticket, WHMIS,

Additional Qualifications include:

  • Experience
  • Oil field experience an asset.
  • Plant
  • Fall Arrest ticket, Standard First Aid, Elevated Work Platform ticket, Confined space tickets, Skid steer ticket, rigging tickets, carry deck ticket, TDG, Air Brakes, Class 3 driver’s license, Mask fit testing for Scott and North masks as needed.

Working conditions:

  • Able and willing to work long hours
  • Able to work in cold weather of hot weather conditions.
  • Able to work at heights or confined spaces may be required.

Physical requirements:
Pipefitters should be physically fit and capable of working in all types of weather, this position will require pre access testing and subject to post incident testing.

  • Ability to regularly handle and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to pass a medical fit for work exam
  • Ability to pass a pre-access Drug & Alcohol test
