Job Description

Terrafirma Resources is seeking a competent Pipefitters and Apprentices to support the activities of our growing Field team. Working out of our Rocky Mountain House & Leslieville Fabrication Facilities as well as various on site locations (Pipeline , Facility Construction & Turnarounds) with welding projects and ensures an organized work environment and adequate maintenance of equipment and materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining cleanliness of work areas.
  • Bolting/un-bolting flanges/valves & PSV’s
  • Hydrotesting/ Painting completed spools
  • Knuckle Picker use & piping install (Rigging knowledge/experience an asset)
  • Measuring & Cutting Piping
  • Various labourer tasks
  • Maintaining stock levels of materials and supplies.
  • Loading and unloading trucks of material
  • Receiving Material ( Cataloguing heat numbers & MTR’s)
  • Maintaining knowledge of various types of metal.
  • Operating various tools and types of equipment.
  • Attending on-site & in house safety meetings and following Terrafirma’s Safety Policies & Procedures.
  • ability to work away for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years work experience in a similar role
  • Turnaround/Shutdown Experience an asset
  • Journeyman/ Apprentice is preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of all aspects of piping and associated processes.
  • Knowledge of pipefitter trade related tools
  • Basic English reading and writing skills.
  • Physically strong, agile and dexterous , able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Reliable , Punctual .
  • Ability to work in a standing position for extended hours.
  • Comfortable with working on elevated surfaces.
  • Resilient to working in adverse climatic conditions.
  • Knowledge of Isometric prints and an ability to read and interperet drawings.
  • Local to Rocky Mountain House area is preferred.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Drivers License
  • H2S
  • CSO or PCST or CSTS or eGSO
  • First Aid w/ CPR an asset
  • Confined Space an asset
  • Fall Protection an asset
  • Site-Specific Training will be provided

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $24.00-$40.00 per hour

  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
  • Day shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Rocky Mountain House, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

  • Steamfitter/Pipefitter: 2 years (required)
  • Shutdown: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Drivers License (preferred)
