Job Overview:
This position will repair and maintain pipelines, equipment, and performance of work associated with the operation and maintenance of gas pipelines along the Texas Gulf Coast area. This position is based at the LaPorte, TX facility.
Primary duties include:
Inspect, operate, and maintain Gas transmission pipelines, as well as associated equipment in a reliable / efficient manner in accordance with company guidelines.
Conduct Damage Prevention activities including pipeline patrols, one-calls, locating and marking of pipelines, inspecting line crossings, excavations, and other activities affecting the pipeline system
Maintain working knowledge of regulatory requirements, perform required tasks, and complete associated documentation (PHMSA.)
Plan, organize, and prioritize assigned responsibilities and coordinate work with other employees as well as, 3rd party contractors assigned to assist Linde
Coordinate and communicate with outside parties including landowners, public agencies, contractors, utilities, and other pipeline operators
Actively participate and provide leadership in safety programs and initiatives and follow policies and procedures
Perform energy isolation lockout/tagout procedures (LOTO)
This is an on-call position
Other responsibilities include:
Project support, audit support, and interfacing with customers, plant personnel, and third – parties.
10-25% travel required per month or as required, helping support efforts in other remote areas.
A company vehicle, cell phone, and laptop computer will be provided.
All required safety equipment will be provided
Working Conditions:
Must be able to move about on foot and follow safety and emergency response procedures.
Requires ability to work outdoors in weather extremes and near equipment with potentially high noise levels.
Required to carry cell phone and respond to callouts, including weekends and holidays.
A company vehicle, cell phone, and laptop computer will be provided.
Qulifications:
The ability to work safely and efficiently while at times working independently
High School Degree required
3+ years of related experience
Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.) a plus
Strong communications skills (verbal and written) essential
Valve maintenance experience a plus
Experience as a pipe fitter, welder, etc. a plus
