Journeyman Welder

We are currently looking for a knowledgeable and skilled Welder with the primary responsibility of welding of plant equipment and fleet vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret welding process specifications
  • Operate manual welding equipment
  • Operate flame-cutting equipment
  • Operate metal shaping, straightening and bending machines
  • Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air, AOC)
  • Determine weldability of materials
  • Select filler rods
  • Perform post welding heat treatment
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
  • Prepare jigs or set-ups for welding
  • Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.

Qualifications:

  • CWB Certified
  • Registered Journeyman or Apprentice Welder
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Must have valid driver license
  • 1-2 years of prior welding experience
  • Experience working on fleet vehicle or plant equipment is considered an asset, but not required

Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. Overtime may be required.

Some out-of-town work may be required
