Job Summary:

In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Provincial Health Services Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at PHSA, and as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.The Plumber Fitter performs installation, repair and preventative maintenance functions to plumbing and building systems.


What you’ll do

1.Install and repair plumbing and Building equipment.

2.Maintain hospital equipment such as dishwashers and steamers, laboratory glass washers and drainage systems.

3.Perform a variety of welding jobs. Repair and calibrate environmental controls for heating and ventilation systems.

4.Perform preventative maintenance on such items as heating and ventilation equipment, stills and humidifiers by inspecting, cleaning, greasing or replacing parts as necessary.

5.Assist other maintenance personnel by performing minor building repairs and servicing as required.

6.Perform other related duties as required.

You bring

  • Grade 10 plus two years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • B.C. TQ in Plumbing.
  • B.C. Gas Fitters Class B level License.
  • Certificate of competency as a Cross Connection Control Specialist
