Overview:
Welder who uses one or more of the following processes GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, SAW (TIG, Stick, Fluxcore, and Submerged Arc) to weld ASME pressure vessels as defined by client’s specifications and applicable codes.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and product acceptable welds in all positions per qualified welding procedures
- Must wear PPE at all times while in the shop. Ex: safety glasses, leather boots, gloves, and welding hood
- Must follow all company safety rules, procedures, regulations, and company’s Core Safety Rules
- Report any unsafe conditions and practices to supervisor or safety manager immediately
- Report all incidents/accidents/injuries involving the health and wellbeing of any employee to management immediately
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of vessel shop experience
- Ability to pass visual, radiograph, and destructive testing in one or more of the following processes: GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, SAW
- Ability to follow welding procedures
- Must be able to back gouge welds to clean metal
- Must be able to understand and follow direction from supervisor
- Must have the ability to run shop overhead cranes and rig heavy objects in a safe manner
- Must be able to work, stand for 10 hours, and squat and bend at the waist as needed throughout the day for a 5-day work week
- Have the ability to lift at least 50lbs
- Professional ability to work well with management
