Position Overview:
Responsible for parts salvage using standard and specialized welding techniques. With the exception of thermal spray application, employees working in this job classification are required to be apprentice/certified journeyman welders.
Job Description:
Repair worn parts and welding stock material to bring back parts to specifications
Read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications
Fit sub-assemblies and assemblies together and prepare for welding
Lay out, cut and form metal to specifications
Fully Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
Able to operate manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment
Operate brazing and soldering equipment
Qualifications:
Journeyperson Ticket is required
Previous on-the-job training such as Mig welding and Tig welding
Previous experience with Heavy Equipment repairs an asset
You are able to work indoors with noise, vibrations and other hazards that are common to the job
You are able to work in uncomfortable or unusual positions at times
You have the ability to be on your feet for long periods of time
Strong Attention to detail
Ability to lift and handle material weighing up to 40 lbs
Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures
Note:
This posting is for a static day shift scheduled Monday-Thursday; 10 hours per day
