Basic Accountability:

  • Safety and housekeeping will be the first requirement in all activities. Operator must know and follow all safety rules, model programs, and procedures associated with the Specialty Production department.
  • Operate equipment efficiently and ensure the production of high-quality Specialty products.
  • Cooperate and work in a team environment while maintaining consistent attendance.

Nature and Scope:

  • Under the guidance of the Specialty Supervisor, the employee performs duties such as packaging Specialty products, running CNC/Brake Presses, performing housekeeping duties, and other duties as required.
  • Self-motivated individuals with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Exercise personal safety, promote and enforce safety among crew members.
  • Develop and maintain good employee morale and working relationships within the department and with other departments at the plant.
  • Assist in the implementation of USG/CGC Model Programs, Safety Rules, VWIs/JSAs and Standard Operating Procedures, as required.
  • Carry out special projects and assignments as directed by Management.
  • Able to work flexible hours and all shifts.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required
  • College diploma in sheet metal fabrication will be considered an asset
  • Prior work experience in sheet metal fabrication will be considered an asset
  • Hands on experience operating, setting up and troubleshooting Brake Presses and CNC machines will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills and the ability to work as a team
  • Demonstrates ability to adapt to changing business conditions to support needs of department
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be a people and results-oriented individual who incorporates and emphasizes safety and quality in all aspects of the daily work environment
