The Position

The Production Supervisor – Metal Fabrication is responsible for planning and organizing team members to meet customer requirements for quality, cost and on-time delivery

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of existing associates in order to ensure that safety, quality and production targets are achieved daily.
  • Establish methods to meet production schedules and co-ordinate work with other departments
  • Resolve production issues and recommend measures to improve productivity
  • Requisition materials and supplies as applicable
  • Ensure parts/materials are supplied to machines as needed
  • Train employees on job duties, safety procedures and company policies
  • Ensure production scheduling flexibility is optimized through program management across all robotic weld cells
  • Support ongoing continuous improvement projects and promote lean manufacturing principles
  • Ensure safety rules and regulations are followed
  • Track and report production results – Quality/Productivity/Audits/Scrap

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably a made-to-order contract manufacturing
  • Grade 12 education, post-secondary education in a related discipline an asset
  • Previous leadership experience
  • ISO Quality systems knowledge
  • Hands-on team player that interacts and communicates well with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent computer skills, experience with SAP Business One would be favorable
  • Extensive experience using MS office; in particular Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and able to multi-task in a fast paced dynamic environment
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Able to prioritize and adapt to changing priorities
