Production Supervisor (EE)
Atlantis
Heavy Engineering Plant requires a Production Supervisor who will be responsible for ensuring that the production runs efficiently and that daily, weekly and monthly targets are met. Report to Production Engineer.
Criteria:
· 3 – 5 years’ experience in process or production engineering environment (with leadership experience)
· Technical Diploma or equivalent qualification,
· Trade test disciplines of Welding or Boilermaking
· Proven knowledge of Welding or Painting or Boilermaking operations (and related equipment) highly preferred
· Excellent English verbal and written communication skills,
· Proficient user of Microsoft Office.
· Results orientated, proactive with a positive attitude,
· Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability,
· Able to communicate and motivate coherently – both verbally and through written communication,
· Understands the principles of manufacturing,
· Strong leadership, planning and organizational skills are essential.

Daily Functions
Staff Supervision:
- Supervise the day to day activity of all team members
- Ensure that all team members comply with all company rules, policies and procedures,
- Lead, mentor and train employees in areas needing development,
- Foster positive relationships with all team members and contribute to positive team morale,
- Maintain a disciplined working environment by coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees,
- Have daily Toolbox talks with team members and clearly communicate expectations and action plans,
Production and Quality Output:
- Be responsible for the fulfilment of the production plan by addressing or removing and solving day to day challenges and ensuring that daily, weekly and monthly targets are met,
- Ensure optimization of all resources, including personnel, by ensuring that all resources (manpower, machines and materials) are available,
- Monitor operators’ performance and implement effective actions to correct deviations,
- Take responsibility for ensuring the expeditious reporting of any breakdowns and ensure repairs are done to the correct standard,
- Enforcing quality standards, promote a culture of “do it right the first time” and ensure team members perform the required controls during production and complete the required quality documentation,
- Supporting Production Engineers and Manager in terms of employee performance evaluation and reporting any misconduct cases related to the employees,
- Ensure that Quality Inspectors are informed on time of control checks to be performed after each production process.
- Be aware of and be on the lookout for opportunities of improvement and initiate and implement such improvement ideas,
Compliance:
Health and Safety and Environmental Compliance –
- Promote a preventive culture and the integration of Health and Safety and Environment in the company according to the established Policy,
- Collaborate with Quality and Environmental Manager as well as Health and Safety Responsible to identify and evaluate the risks related with the functions carried out under your control.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by ensuring that staff are issued with correct PPE,
- Ensure that equipment and machines are used in a safe and responsible manner,
- Be responsible for ensuring that only qualified staff operate any driven machinery,
- Ensure that all safety mechanisms and devices on machines and equipment are in place and operational,
- Adhere and ensure team members adhere to the Company’s environmental policies and legal duties, specifically control of emissions, management of solvents and the recycling of waste product.
- Participate in incident and accident investigations,
- Immediately report any unsafe condition,
General Compliance –
- Ensure that team members perform and maintain activities related to housekeeping & 5S,
- Ensure all relevant documentation is completed accurately and correctly by team members,
- Complete all required documentation and reports on time and accurately,
- Communicates with and assists other production areas as needed,
- Carry out basic quality control checks
- Attend training programs as and when required,
- Ensure proper and timely completion of HR related admin documents (leave, sick leave, FRL, IOD, etc.),
- Take responsibility for ensuring SAP scanning is done by all staff and check compliance on SAP on a regular basis
- Perform other tasks consistent with the requirements of this position,
