Production & Supply Chain Supervisor

Salary: $65,000 – 85,000 / Year

Location: Nisku Alberta

Permanent Fulltime – Monday – Friday 40 hours per week.

Currently seeking to hire a Production Supervisor / Supply Chain Supervisor for an industrial fabrication shop. This position would involve overseeing all aspects of the production facility including managing raw materials/consumables inventory, scheduling/ planning of day to day production, overseeing maintenance of equipment and machines, and developing functional supply chain methodologies to ensure the shop runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate departmental activities and operations
  • Develop a supply and production plan that accurately monitors inventories and flow of merchandise on a weekly basis
  • Create and monitor the performance of the purchasing strategy
  • Anticipate customer and store needs by consistently evaluating environment and customers for cues across all locations
  • Oversee the warehousing logistics for the company to insure maximum return on space
  • Conduct and coordinate monthly inventory counts
  • Ensure a safe, efficient work environment through employee coaching and engagement and strict adherence to safety policies and procedures while conducting activities.
  • Analyze and consolidate quality data and metrics to identify and quantify trends, improvements, and opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues that are impacting quality, productivity, or safety.
  • Respond to quality standards and processes to ensure consistent identification of non-conformances. Responsible for the set-up and changeover of machines to eliminate downtime.
  • Train new employees on the ERP system
  • Participate in or lead initiatives to eliminate waste and improve operating efficiencies, labor productivity and ability to ship product.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures, which include, but are not limited to, standard work sheets, quality management processes and procedures, customer product specifications and corrective actions resulting from any defects reported, either internally or externally.
  • Maintain documentation, track, counsel and execute coaching and corrective action when performance issues occur.
  • Assist with other projects/duties as required

Education/Skills/Experience Required:

– 3 Years experience in a similar role

– Basic mechanical and technical knowledge and experience in an industrial fabrication facility.

– Knowledge of SAP or other similar ERP/inventory software
