NGC Product Solutions is seeking a dynamic individual to become our next permanent full-time Production Support – Fabrication Technician. We are looking for an employee excited to be part of our amazing organization where every day is different! The successful candidate would be responsible for the fabrication and execution of all shop and field orders for the company.

Responsibilities:

Strategy

  • Successfully executing production processes and schedules;
  • Reporting progress to the Production Lead and to the Production team;
  • Working with the Product Lead, Project Manager & Production Group to optimize manufacturing processes and enable NGC’s production capacity to continue to grow with the company;
  • Identifying pitfalls in current deliverables and implementing contingency plans to ensure successful completions of projects.

Human Resources

  • Building relationships within NGC, and setting the stage for strong communications in the team;
  • Participating in the development of production initiatives to deliver superior results;
  • Identifying strengths and areas to improve of oneself, as well as new and existing employees;
  • Proposing actions to build a high performing team;
  • Assuring compliance with all ISO 9001:2015, including ABSA Pressure Piping code compliance and health & safety programs.

Production and Execution

  • Executing projects on time, keeping the production team, abreast of schedules changes;
  • Managing production expectations throughout the production process;
  • Ownership of production for all assigned projects;
  • Technical operations, including training, certification, maintenance, calibration, and documentation;
  • Achieving or outperforming code and/or company requirements – quality, client surveillance and delivery; and,
  • Coordinating all incoming requirements from Production Lead;

Client Relations

  • Delivering projects on time and on budget; and,
  • Supply documentation for final documentation, project closing and celebration.

The Individual:

Given the leading role this individual will play in the company’s future growth and success, it is essential that the successful candidate possess the following education, experience, and personal characteristics:

Education:

  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or Technologist discipline or trade

(ie: pipefitting, instrumentation, welding, machinist, etc.)

Experience:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in equipment operation (pipe threading, welding, waterjet, etc);
  • Demonstrated proficiency in hand tools (grinding, router, table saw, etc.)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic CAD programs;

Personal Characteristics:

  • Someone who can embody the NGC strategy and values;
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to communicate and identify improvement initiatives;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Someone who can clearly articulate their own opinion, listen to others, and action the appropriate decision;
