Overview
The Production Team Leader – Metal Fabrication is responsible for planning and organizing team members to meet customer requirements for quality, cost and on-time delivery.
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of existing associates in order to ensure that safety, quality and production targets are achieved daily.
- Establish methods to meet production schedules and co-ordinate work with other departments
- Resolve production issues and recommend measures to improve productivity
- Requisition materials and supplies as applicable
- Ensure parts/materials are supplied to machines as needed
- Train employees on job duties, safety procedures and company policies
- Ensure production scheduling flexibility is optimized through program management across all robotic weld cells
- Support ongoing continuous improvement projects and promote lean manufacturing principles
- Ensure safety rules and regulations are followed
- Track and report production results – Quality/Productivity/Audits/Scrap
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably a made-to-order contract manufacturing
- Grade 12 education, post-secondary education in a related discipline an asset
- Previous leadership experience
- ISO Quality systems knowledge
- Hands-on team player that interacts and communicates well with all levels of the organization
- Excellent computer skills, experience with SAP Business One would be favorable
- Extensive experience using MS office; in particular Excel
- Strong attention to detail and able to multi-task in a fast paced dynamic environment
- Excellent organization skills
- Able to prioritize and adapt to changing priorities
