Overview

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Perform minor or major repairs to manufactured parts rejected from the production process so that they meet all quality and /or safety standards. Welding is to be done in a horizontal or flat position on a rework fixture.
  • Grind or clean products into final form using hand tools if required.
  • Perform online quality checks of welds to ensure consistent quality.
  • Check products at different stages of the production process for visual defects.
  • Clean work areas and equipment in keeping with 5S and Kaizen programs
  • Perform all jobs as assigned according to standardized work instructions.
  • Complete reports on production and quality as required.
  • Participate in all company provided training.
  • Perform other duties as required from time to time by your Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College Diploma in manufacturing, robotics, and welding are definite assets.
  • Welding tickets or certifications or working towards certification from a certifying agency are highly recommended
  • Previous experience manually MIG welding in a prototype or production environment, including inspection of MIG weld and reading weld maps
  • Previous experience manually welding and inspecting aluminum is a definite asset

EQUIPMENT AND/OR PRODUCT:

  • Various manufacturing equipment in an automotive modular assemblies manufacturing environment
  • MIG welding equipment and spot weld EQ’s

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Some heavy lifting may be required, and may be in excess of 20 pounds.
  • Good dexterity in maneuvering parts, chisel checks, etc.
  • Noise levels exceeding 85 decibels in most plant floor areas.

  • Responsible to adhere to all IATF 16946 / Quality policies and procedures
  • Understand that Quality is EVERYONES responsibility
  • Prevent quality issues from happening either by not starting the process or by stopping it before a nonconformity has occurred.
  • Escalate Quality Issues immediately to Supervisor or Manager – STOP, CONTAIN & REPORT
  • Attend all Quality training deemed required by Sodecia

SAFETY / ENVIRONMENTAL AND HOUSEKEEPING:

  • Responsible to adhere to all Environmental Program ISO 14001 elements and attend training for same. Act in accordance to all Environmental policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Responsible to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the OHSA.
  • Responsible to report hazards immediate to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Follow and ensure the Company’s procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout the plant.
  • Ensure that you work and operate equipment according to the safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensure that your Department is clean, tidy, organized and a safe workplace at all times following all 5S program elements.

Salary: $21.38-$23.04 per hour
