PakFab Engineered Solutions is a North American company with a world class team of packaging experts. We design, program-manage, fabricate, source, retro-fit, repair/service, and breakdown/recycle all types of packaging – metal, plastic, foam, bags, bulk/standard bins and a variety of custom dunnage. We provide solutions to a variety of industries: automotive, industrial, alternate energy, electronic and aerospace.

Position Summary

The Production Weld Shop Supervisor is responsible for supervising all operations in the production facility. The Production Shop Supervisor is involved in assisting with the implementation of policies and procedures, meeting production goals, and maintaining a positive work environment in which the plant operates. In addition, the Production Shop Supervisor also plays an important role in supervising maintenance activities carried out on the site, and in fostering a culture of expertise and motivation in staff.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process, equipment, and personnel
  • Completes production plan as provided by Manager while accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress through job completion assessment; resolving problems
  • Communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards with use of lean manufacturing techniques
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Ensures operation of equipment and notifies Manager if issues arise
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assists in resolving personnel problems by investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action
  • Initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
  • Ensures that all personnel have received sufficient training to comply with procedures
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and PakFab policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience as a lead hand/supervisor in a welding environment
  • Must possess a valid forklift license/certification
  • Preferably possess a valid driver’s license
  • Highly knowledgeable of weld processes and deficiencies
  • Must be able to read and understand production drawings, blueprints, and work orders
  • Knowledge of safe lifting and handling techniques
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally
  • Knowledge of safe lifting and handling techniques

Work Conditions

  • Use of personal protection equipment will be required
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in conditions that include heat and humidity, and exposure to dust
