Production Welder Assembler/Trainee

Trenergy is a 100 percent locally owned fabrication plant in St. Catharines, Ontario specializing in the manufacture of boilers, pressure vessels, and structural steel construction. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PRODUCTION WELDER ASSEMBLER INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Interpretation of drawings/blueprints.
  • Performs necessary layout for work.
  • Jig fitting and fit up of components.
  • Plasma or carbon arc back gouging set up and execution as required.
  • Performing hot work as required.
  • Set up and weld SMAW/GMAW/FCAW in multiple positions.
  • Handles materials in the work area using cranes, rolls, etc.
  • Prepares welds for quality related inspections. * Inspects his/her work prior to moving work over to the next operation.
  • Maintains a clean and safe workplace.
  • Confined space work may be required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A.S.M.E. or CWB Certifications.
  • Knowledge of fitting and welding in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Competent in blue print reading. * Excellent team work and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance systems and procedures.
  • Crane and lifting device experience.
  • Welding school/college diploma is an asset.
  • Good written and oral skills in English.

Required experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the steel fabricating industry

Salary: $21.05-$26.31 per hour
