Overview

CNH Industrial is currently recruiting for an evening shift Production Weld Team Leader at our Saskatoon, manufacturing facility.

The position’s main function is to lead their respective group in continuous improvement in safety, cost, quality and productivity by leading the use of Lean Manufacturing techniques. They will monitor their team’s operation with particular focus on man, material, machine and method to detect any abnormalities and strive to improve the situation.

Responsibilities:

  • To monitor for and correct abnormalities from the standards in their area. This includes abnormalities in employees following standard processes, standard machine operation, product quality, and logistics management.
  • Adhere and enforce safety regulations in your department
  • To perform assigned Safety activities, including maintaining risk assessments, risk predictions, eliminating high and very high risks in their area.
  • To have a high level of attention to identify quality issues and defects in their manufacturing process and product, then to report them to their Team Leader or Production Supervisor.
  • To perform a variety of tasks acting as an operator, following all applicable policies, procedures, and work instructions.

  • Plan, assign, and execute activities to meet performance targets in the department including:
  • Quality
  • Production
  • Safety
  • Absenteeism
  • Kaizen suggestions
  • Trainings
  • Risk assessment and reduction
  • Human Error Reduction
  • Loss Collections
  • Monitor resources and environmental activities and take steps towards meeting both energy and environmental targets for the plant
  • Conduct trainings in order to achieve the skill and knowledge targets for the department
  • Update Communication Board monthly, and run daily stand up meetings with operators
  • To achieve the efficiency targets for the department by performing a variety of activities.
  • To perform a variety of tasks acting as an operator, following all applicable policies, procedures, and working instructions
  • To effectively communicate within the department and internal customers groups through a range of platforms.
  • Perform root cause and counter measure activities to eliminate loss and safety risks
  • To take on a leadership role, supports team decisions, and encourages/ensures areas objectives are met.

Qualifications

  • Able to efficiently and effectively use Microsoft Office. In addition, must have the ability to run various CAD packages for blueprints and jig design.
  • 1 to 3 years applied trades training or equivalent work experience using shop mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts and tables.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical ability would be an asset.
  • Demonstrate role model safety behaviors.
  • Must be able to lead a team of employees to meet safety, quality and productivity goals.
  • Strong organizational skills, problem solving skills, extremely self-motivated and the ability to plan and perform work unsupervised.
  • Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to work well in a team setting.
  • Grade 12 or GED Equivalency.
  • Must have the desire and ability to effectively teach and develop employee’s knowledge, skills, and behaviors.
