JOB DESCRIPTION

The Production Welding Supervisor will work closely with the Plant Manager, lead hands, inside sales, and plant floor employees to ensure that Bristol’s quality and production requirements are fulfilled and enforced.

The Production Welding Supervisor must provide day-to-day leadership for a multi-shift site with welding work being performed. Candidates should have good communication, organization and leadership ability along with a continuous improvement mindset.

The Production Welding Supervisor will work in an ISO 9001-2000 environment, and will be involved in many Quality Assurance functions. The Production Welding Supervisor will be conscious of production costs, and will contribute to process improvement efforts.

The Production Welding Supervisor will provide technical leadership; Providing manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests

QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate for this position should have a trade background in welding with some supervisory experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

-Plan and manage the day to day allocation of resources (equipment, people, materials and systems) in order to efficiently, safely and cost effectively achieve performance targets.

-Coach, mentor and develop team members to meet current and future business requirements

-Champion and lead change initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

-Build relationships with frontline team members, internal customers and suppliers, colleagues and support services to ensure achievement of targets.

-Maintaining safe environment and safety practices in all business initiatives

-Create and maintain a safe and positive work environment

-Understand and adhere to internal and external regulations, procedures & policies

-Ensure that a high quality of products, housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained

-Review daily maintenance effectiveness to identify opportunities for improvement

-Ensure the development and implementation of action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives

-Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures

-Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change

ASSETS

-5- 10 years of trade experience in Welding

-3 + years of supervisory experience

-Labour Relations experience

-Sound knowledge and familiarity of the Industrial Sector and the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations
