The Opportunity : A full-time professor to teach both theory and shop courses into the Welding and Metal Fabrication Post-Secondary Programs as well as Welding related courses.

What you need to be successful:

  • qualified Welder or Welder-Fitter (Metal Fabricator) competent with Oxyacetylene, Cutting, Fusion Welding and Brazing
  • experienced in Shielded Metal Arc, Gas Metal Arc, Flux Core/Metal Core Arc Welding, and fabrication
  • experienced in the safe operation of fabrication equipment such as Hydraulic Shear, Ironworker, Chop Saw and Break Press, CNC Plasma, Plate Rolls, and CNC Press Break Press
  • minimum of 5 years’ work experience working as a Welder or Welder-Fitter, Certificate of Qualification in the Welding Trade and/or Metal Fabrication Trade, including Red Seal and certification through CWB or TSSA
  • excellent computer skills and experience using Microsoft applications (Office, Teams, Excel, Sharepoint, etc.)
  • excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
  • strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
  • must possess ability to, and genuine interest in, meeting the educational needs of students, and sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural/ethnic backgrounds of the students.

This is a full-time academic bargaining unit position. Salary range is $67,893 to $117,697 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
