Project Manager/Welder

Overview:

A Project Lead position is here to help facilitate and further the development of Core

Custom Metal Works through the implementation of well-rounded skills. This position may include tasks such as MIG welding, Stick welding, and TIG welding on a multitude of different projects. This position is by no means limited to welding. A Project Lead is also responsible for project understanding and awareness, preparation for projects, plan interpretations, cutting, assembly, and fabrication. This position is mainly comprised of tasks related to the steel industry, such as; custom design and fabrication, steel building erection, and structural steel.

However, as a team member of Core, a Project Lead will be responsible for more. As needed, there will be tasks aimed at furthering the company beyond this reoccurring task list. These might include, but are not limited to, the development of the new shop, other domains of construction such as electrical, plumbing, framing, design work, material handling, business strategy, project management, subcontractor relations and much more. As a key team member, the Project Lead should be open minded to the idea of doing what needs to be done for the growth of the team and the organization.

In addition to the well-rounded skills required for growth, a Project Lead has a high degree of responsibility. The Project Lead position is responsible for getting the project done correctly, timely, and with a high degree of professionalism. The project may require working with the client, management of team members, as well as putting in extra time when needed.

When the need for problem solving arises, the Project Lead should be able to safely use the resources available to get the project done.

The Project Lead is responsible for:

  • Managing projects without upper management there
  • The safety of themselves as well as others
  • Proper skills necessary for the project
  • Interpretation of shop drawings
  • Knowledge of all equipment
  • Communicating with upper management
  • Making sure sites are clean, and everything is cleaned up at the end of the day
  • Quality control

Hours and Wages

Hours are Flexible

Monday- Sunday

40 hours or more agreed upon with management

The above hours will be delivered at a rate of $25 an hour.

Raises are to be expected upon completion of agreed skill development and value integration.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour
