Overview
We are looking for an experienced Propeller Technician, but willing train the right applicant.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Finish and balance propeller blades;
- Grinding and straightening propeller blades;
- Tig weld propeller blades (will train but experience is an asset);
- Will be trained in more tasks such as changing the pitch of propellers as the candidate progresses and gains experience;
- Any other task deemed necessary by the Foreman and/or Senior Management;
- Be customer service oriented as customers are frequently in and out of the Propeller shop; and
- Will be exposed to environmental elements as work is conducted inside and outside throughout the year.
Requirements
- Previous shipyard/marine experience is preferred;
- Welding experience required;
- Good mathematical skills;
- Previous experience is preferred. Willing to train the right applicant;
- Must be physically able to lift and carry heavy objects;
- Applicants must be safety conscious;
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to complete projects or meet deadlines;
- Possess the ability to work well both with a team or unsupervised; and
- Applicant must provide Steel Toe boots, all other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for this position is provided.
