Overview

We are looking for an experienced Propeller Technician, but willing train the right applicant.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Finish and balance propeller blades;
  • Grinding and straightening propeller blades;
  • Tig weld propeller blades (will train but experience is an asset);
  • Will be trained in more tasks such as changing the pitch of propellers as the candidate progresses and gains experience;
  • Any other task deemed necessary by the Foreman and/or Senior Management;
  • Be customer service oriented as customers are frequently in and out of the Propeller shop; and
  • Will be exposed to environmental elements as work is conducted inside and outside throughout the year.

Requirements

  • Previous shipyard/marine experience is preferred;
  • Welding experience required;
  • Good mathematical skills;
  • Previous experience is preferred. Willing to train the right applicant;
  • Must be physically able to lift and carry heavy objects;
  • Applicants must be safety conscious;
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to complete projects or meet deadlines;
  • Possess the ability to work well both with a team or unsupervised; and
  • Applicant must provide Steel Toe boots, all other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for this position is provided.
