You will support general mechanical prototyping and the build, assembly and testing of prototype scale processing plants as part of our dedicated team supporting our Pulsed Methane Pyrolysis (PMP) process development and validation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Fabricating prototype parts and structures out of metal, plastics, wood, or other materials
Supporting the construction, testing and evaluating system and sub-system designs.
Contribute to the hands-on build of a prototype reactor test system and sub-components.
Support developing in-house fabrication capabilities and shop build out.
Install system components (piping, valves, meters, instrumentation, etc.) including piping layouts and installations.
Physically build and install mechanical, electrical, and chemical test equipment and systems.
Implementation of control automation field wiring.
Support a multi-disciplinary design team in many areas of technology development.
Build fixtures, test benches, etc. to facilitate testing and/or acquiring operational data.
Assisting the mechanical engineer with mechanical design and maintenance tasks of said models
Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as performing repairs
Write design and progress reports.
Documenting processes and fabrication records
Training co-workers on the safe and efficient use of mechanical machinery and equipment as well as prototyping methods, strategies, etc.
Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to industry codes and/or standards
You bring:
5+ years of work experience in mechanical fabrication, design and/or assembly.
Education such as a trades’ certificate, or a technology or engineering related degree or diploma
Experience with hands-on mechanical assembly and process plant piping builds.
Experience with diverse fabrication techniques: welding, machining, lathe, etc.
Experience with CAD drawing creation and/or interpretation is an asset (CREO or AutoCAD + Plant 3D/Electric preferred).

Hands-on experience with high-pressure piping and fittings; fabrication; and high pressure, high-temperature systems
Strong communication abilities both written and verbal.
