What You Will Do In Your Role

Responsibilities for a QC Lead include:
Team Leader:
Effectively work with others to implement improvements to quality and/or performance.

Coach QC team members to perform inspections professionally, safely and without bias.

Direct work for teams up to 20+.

Coordinate Receiving Inspection:
Approve incoming supplier materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.

Coordinate Construction Quality Control:

  • Confirming only approved welders, procedures, materials etc. are being used in production.
  • Inspections are performed and documented correctly.
  • Assistance and agreement with the preparation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s)Verification.

Coordinate Document Control:
Document inspection results by completing reports/logs and inputting data into OPD’s Construction Management System (CMS).

Ensuring pressure test documentation is being built per OPD and client specifications

We expect all field employees to:

Participate in onsite safety meetings

Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures

Be aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite

Be on time to the jobsite each day ready for work

Display a positive attitude and be able to work in a team environment

Some physical demands of being a QC Inspector include:
Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations.

Standing for extended periods of time up to 11 hours per day.

Moving the entire body. Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis.

Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools.

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:
Basic Requirements:
5+ years of experience as Quality Control Inspector in the Oil & Gas Industry.

AWS CWI Certification.

Visual acuity to Jaeger J1 test chart within the last 12 months.

Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

Proven ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.

Basic Computer Skills – able to use Outlook and Teams for emails and meetings.

Willing to travel 100% of the time to locations that could be outside the Houston area.

What Will Put You Ahead

Preferred Requirements:
10+ years of experience as Quality Control Inspector in the Oil & Gas Industry

NACE Coating Inspector Certification.

API Certifications (570, 510, or 653)

Past experience as a supervisor.

Knowledge of AMSE Section V, IX and B31.3.
