Overview

Honda of Canada Mfg. is currently seeking an experienced Quality Analysis Associate. The nature of our business is fast-paced, and truly hands on in respect to being able to tackle various issues in respect to design, testing, and production. HCM is a collaborative environment, and our associates have extensive opportunities for growth, including lateral movement and cross-training opportunities.

The successful applicant would be part of the Quality Analysis team with their main responsibility focused on the use of the CMM and Leica tracker equipment. This involves setting up, performing layouts, and analyzing the data in order to create a report for the group and department. This allows for an understanding the accuracy of the White bodies being created and the equipment in use, allowing for PDCA of any concerns.

What you do:
Operation of the CMM equipment to conduct White Body Layouts

Operation of the Leica scanner to perform equipment layouts

Create/modify/troubleshoot CMM programs

Create NM layout reports and White Body Accuracy reports outlining measurement results

Daily support to ensure abnormal concerns have zero impact to production stability.

Maintain and calibrate the CMM, Leica and Complex Table equipment

Analysis of White Body and CBU complex problems; perform root cause analysis based on symptoms using 1 CBU structure, develop & drive the execution of countermeasure activity.

Ability to work with other departments for ongoing improvement and zero impact mindset.

Qualifications

What you need:
Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering Degree or Technology Diploma or equivalent work related experience

Demonstrated ability / understanding to interpret part / equipment drawings; CAD/Catia Version 5 or greater

Previous CMM, Polyworks and Leica experience, or equivalent knowledge from similar systems

Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Strong prioritization, decision making and complex problem solving ability

Must be willing and able to:
Willing and able to support overtime on short notice

Willing and able to work shutdowns and weekends based on project/work requirements

Willing and able to work shifts as required (3 shift operation)

Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice. Valid Canadian passport, or B1 Visa is required. In addition, must be able to meet any COVID-19 travel requirements/restrictions required by Canadian and/or foreign governments that allow for unimpeded movement across international borders.

Additional experience that you bring:
Understanding/experience with coordinate systems, DNT, and SPC

Demonstrated ability to analyze root cause of problem and recommend countermeasures

Sound knowledge of quality control methods & tools (SPC, FMEA, KT, 5P, PQCT, Gauge R&R, Run Charts)

General understanding of Weld Process flow

Project management experience (schedules, resource planning, spec writing, time management)

Experience leading both individuals and groups

Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentations, leading meetings and report writing

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
