Quality Control Inspector Piping & Structural Fabrication – Shop/Field

Carbonex is looking to hire a determined Quality Control Inspector Piping & Structural Fabrication – Shop/Field for our Fabrication division. Reporting to the Vice President, the Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for Overseeing and Supporting the fabrication division to produce exceptional products prepared for clients surrounding Whitecourt and Grande Prairie. The successful candidate is an individual that can engage collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve deliverables while also being a self-starter with an aptitude for working independently and within a team environment.

Qualifications & Required Job Tasks

CWB level 1 inspector is recomended

Previous experience in Spool fab / Acorn pipe ISO drawings is preferred or able to learn
3-Year minimum experience in ABSA/CWB Document Control, management considered an asset, Previous vessel experience is considered an asset

Conduct Visual weld quality inspections. Weld & NDE mapping, prepare quality forms, review of Reports.

Work with clients and various departments within Carbonex to ensure Quality procedures and client specifications are implemented and are adhered to.

Knowledge of Codes and standards, provincial safety regulations act is required

Reports to Quality Control Manager (QCM)

Resolve non conformance, review Welder’s qualifications, update logs etc.

Ensure QMS manual implementation, organize, solid document control and the retention of records

Tickets (Additional)

– First Aid

– H2S

– Valid Class 5 drivers License w/ clean abstract

– Client Specific orientations for occasional onsite visits.

Required Tasks but not limited to:

Working with Microsoft excel, word (entering data, creating spread sheets and tables

Bluebeam from document mark ups to combining documents for final digital turn over packages

Ensure all Quality related codes, WPS and client specifications are being met

Take detailed information from client IFC’s and specs and build an ITP for client approvals from this data

Read and interpret ABSA, Z662, AMSE and CWB codes to implement during project work

Work in a fast-paced environment

Reviewing and verifying MTR’s

Preparing torque reports

Completing QC package from the start of the project and for final turnover’s

Completing ABSA related documents such as AB81, AB83 and AB40’s

Working with a great team to achieve the highest level of quality

Salary: $30.00-$65.00 per hour

Experience:
