Overview
Key Functions and Performance Areas:
1) Check stabilizer in Merta stat oven / Viscosity (Viscometer) and Density (Density meter).
2) Ensure product conformance with quality standards.
3) Involved in research and development of new products.
4) Testing of samples with different methods. Normal BS, DIN, methods.
5) Must know how to use a HF welder.
6) Check all products and compare to master samples and specifications.
7) Isolate and reject all non-conformance products.
8) Analyze and assist in the development of new mixing room formulations.
9) Ensure calibrations and maintenance of all lab equipment.
10) Perform and ensure on line tests of production for every product (welding-, tensile-, tears-, fire-, abrasion-,
adhesion-, gelation-, fusion-, colour-, uv-, conductivity test, etc.) and assist Shift Supervisors with the execution of correction action where needed.
11) Compile pass / fail reports.
12) Testing of incoming raw materials.
13) Do mass profile checks on 2000lm rolls.
14) Assist with plant support and trouble shooting and testing of product returned from customers.
15) Must understand that other duties related to operations of the business may need to be performed according to operational requirements.
16) Working of overtime as and when required (including public holidays and weekends)
17)Maintain a high level of good housekeeping and health and safety standards at all times.
18) Must be able to work shifts.
Minimum Requirements/Skills/Expertise:
- Grade 12
- Computer proficiency in MS Office and Syspro
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Versatility and willing to learn
- Expediting and problem solving
- Must be able to work independently
