Overview

A&H Steel is looking for ambitious applicants that are interested training for operator positions. New hires that show initiative, a strong attitude, and a consistent attendance will be given the opportunity to be trained as operators for the busy season. Operators who can meet expectations for safety, quality and production are eligible for pay increases.

We are currently training operators to fill positions on our Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (12hrs/day) shift starting in mid April. Training will be completed Monday – Friday until the second shift starts.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with bending and loading of rebar
  • Train on different bending and shearing machines as well as overhead crane
  • Support with the production of high quality rebar pieces.
  • Ensure all employees and visitors adhere to safe work procedures for the equipment being operated.
  • Ensure good housekeeping in order to perform work safely and efficiently.
  • Help ensure work is completed as scheduled.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must show up and be on time for all shifts.
  • Experience working in a fabrication facility is considered an asset.
  • Forklift experience is considered an asset.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Position will require exposure to heat, cold, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration and industrial manufacturing noise.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and to stand 8 hours.

Compensation and Benefits

A&H Steel provides competitive wages starting at $20/hr, with regular increases based on experience and competency. Eligible employees are also provided with extended medical and dental benefits, Long-Term Disability, and RRSP matching.
