ROLE PROFILE

Position: Welder *This is a Safety Sensitive Position

Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Service Centre Operations Manager

SUMMARY OF ROLE

Processes products to meet customer and industry requirements. Assembles components, fabricates, tests, inspects, identifies and packages resale products. May be assigned to perform duties for a particular warehouse department (e.g., welding, belt, hydraulics, gaskets). Maintains housekeeping and organization of the warehouse. Reports to the assigned Production Manager or Operations Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures
  • Assembles products per company and manufacturer’s requirements
  • Performs all tests as required by the customer and per company work instruction (WI)
  • Reads drawings, prints and sketches, as applicable
  • Maintains process equipment and required quality-related documentation
  • Operates mechanical equipment and hand tools to process products, as necessary
  • Packages customer orders
  • Makes recommendations to management with respect to product and process improvements
  • Assists with physical inventory
  • Performs receiving, in-process and final inspections of products, as required
  • Safe operation of forklifts (stand-up, sit down & power lift) as required;
  • Fabricate, inspect, test, and pick assemblies and parts according to ERIKS and industry standards.
  • Process RGA’s, non-conformances and corrective actions in accordance with Quality System requirements.
  • Maintain process equipment, complete maintenance logs, and report servicing needs to management.
  • Work with all other personnel as needed to successfully handle customer orders.

  • Attention to detail; meticulous, above average organizational skills;

  • Self-starter with an ability to work with a team or with limited supervision
  • Excellent sense of urgency, work ethic and attendance record
  • Able to sit, walk, stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to work extended hours (if needed)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Red Seal B-Pressure Welder is preferred (Journeyman welder capable of obtain B-pressure certification would be considered)
  • Experience with stainless steel TIG welding, and/or welding corrugated metal hose or thin gauge stainless steel would be an asset;
  • Must possess valid Passport and be eligible for international travel.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers for welding activities, computer use; feel and pick up objects, etc.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb ladders, talk, and hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 lbs/28 kg.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
