Overview

Under the general supervision of the Branch Manager, this position is responsible to apply knowledge of machine repair and industrial electrics in a safe and efficient manner to rebuild, repair and maintain welding equipment while maintaining compliance with all regulatory agencies and requirements including, but not limited to OSHA, FDA, DOT, ISO and Airgas regulations, policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Safety and Regulatory Compliance

Demonstrates and aligns with Airgas Safety Pledge and 12 Life Saving Rules.

Exemplifies, promotes and develops safe work behaviors.

Ensures all applicable regulatory (OSHA, FDA, DOT, EPA) requirements are met and applicable training and recordkeeping is performed to meet departmental and location deadlines.

Maintains compliance with all Specialty, Medical and Food Gas Standard Operating Procedures, SMS and ISO requirements and any and all associated paperwork.

Essential Functions:
Pulls assigned equipment for repair from inventory using appropriate equipment.

Performs inspection of machine and observes operation to detect cause of malfunction.

Disassembles machine, using hand tools.

Selects replacement parts lists and catalogs, or repairs parts, such as motor drive controls, motors, belts, transformers, bushings, bearings, and gears.

May solder loose connections.

May rewires electrical circuits.

Reassemble machine, using hand tools, welding and brazing equipment, and measuring instruments.

Sets up and starts repaired machine to verify operation.

Responds to customer calls in a professional and efficient manner.

Performs related duties as required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
May operates a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment as required.

Assist with inventory, housekeeping and demonstrations as required.

Other duties and projects as assigned.
