Overview

· Job Description: The rigger is responsible for fabricating slings

· Essential Job Tasks: Standing, lifting up to the heavy range from floor to waist level, above shoulder work, pushing and pull force into the heavy range, complex upper extremity movements including wrist and forearm rotation into the heavy range.

· Specific Job Tasks: Wire Rope Terminology, Strength and Flexibility of Wore Ropes, Wire Rope Terminations, Factors Causing Rope Deterioration, Rope Removal Criteria, Wire Rope Examination Procedures, Practical Examination of Wire Ropes, Combined Effects of Rope Deterioration Criteria, Recording and Reporting for Safety.

Job Demand Category and Definition:

· Degree of Self-Supervision Required: Predominantly self-supervised throughout the shift (may contact supervisor to obtain work direction as needed).

· Workload Classification: Medium-Heavy workload level (primarily lifted weights do not exceed 100lbs) However, push/pull forces to fabricate the eye of the sling can exceed 100lbs of force depending on the size of the wire.

· Workplace Description: Two level warehouse facility with concrete floors. Work is primarily performed inside the warehouse with rare outdoor work requirements in the summer months.

Breaks: 2x 15 minutes and 1x 60 minute lunch
