Job title:

Robotic Welder / Trainee

Reports to:

Fab/Machine Shop Supervisor

Job purpose

  • As a Robotic Welder you will, under general supervision, directly support the fabrication of structures. This position utilizes tooling, fixtures, handling systems, safety, quality checks, inspection, ergonomics, and other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Moving required metal parts into place for robot to create parts
  • Removal of scrap metals from robotic work area to recycling receptacles
  • Overall quality control and inspection of all manufactured parts from designated machine
  • Repair of welds as needed if required
  • Operation of required welding equipment, for manual and automated welds
  • Adjust priorities as needed to meet deadlines and production demands
  • Maintain shop safety standards as well as 5S standards
  • Preparation of parts for the robot

Qualifications

  • Automated Robot skills and operation as well as some manual welding processes
  • Welding skills
  • Basic computer knowledge

Working conditions

· 8–10-hour shifts / Standard Hours are 3:45 to 12:45 with a 45 minute lunch and two breaks

· Occasional weekend work as needed

· Night shift

· Fabrication shop work areas

Physical requirements

· Ability to stand for 8-10 hours per shift or longer as needed for overtime projects

· Ability to routinely lift 50 lbs.

· Ability to routinely bend, squat, and reach overhead.

Education

· Robot Welding School Preferred, although not required

· Two years of practical welding experience, with CNC unrelated experience, will be considered reasonably qualified for the position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour
