RSG – Field Machinist / Welder

Resource Service Group (RSG) is a division of Louisiana Cat, a recognized leader among Caterpillar dealers around the world. Resource Service Group offers vast knowledge and experience in all types of plant, mill, and mining maintenance, as well as new construction, refurbishment, and relocation of mining equipment.

We are now accepting resumes for a Field Machinist / Welder in the Lafayette, LA area.

Responsibilities:
Assess equipment and plan repairs needed

Determine proper weld procedure including filler metal and pre-heat

Establish proper line up of line boring equipment

Determine feeds, speeds, and tooling required to bring equipment to OEM specifications Provide detailed inspection reports of all work completed

Develop a strong working relationship with the customer

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required

ASW Certification required

3 years of experience required

Commercial Driver’s License preferred

Ability to weld with stick and flux core wire

Ability to use precision measuring equipment

Basic understanding of component structural integrity and metallurgy

Proficiency with an Air-arc, torch, and grinder

Basic understanding of Climax boring equipment and bore-tec

Basic computer literacy

Well-developed communication and organizational skills

Willingness to work underground and in remote locations
