What you will be doing in the role of Sanitary TIG Welder- Lead:

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Fabrication and installation of various processing equipment in-house or on-site
  • Hygienic/sanitary welding of system components including Piping, frames, tanks, etc.
  • Calculating measurements for material fitting and positioning
  • Fitting, assembling and fabricating stainless products
  • Performing installation of all components of piping systems
  • Positioning or tightening braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, and/or bolt straps, or bolt parts in position for welding or riveting
  • Moving equipment or parts into position, manually or by using hoists, forklifts or cranes
  • Welding components in flat, vertical or overhead positions
  • Following isometric drawings and prints
  • Following directions and plans for installation or fabrication
  • Operating equipment safely and use safe work processes
  • Promoting services capability
  • Coordinating site installation projects
  • Coordinating material and equipment procurement for sites and in-house production
  • Mentoring the team and be a leader and a role model in-house

Knowledge and skills required for the role:

  • College diploma in related field
  • Ten (10) or more years’ experience in sanitary welding/fitting and equipment installation
  • Food and Beverage industry work experience as a welder/fitter
  • Experience as a mentor/foreman
  • Applicable codes and standards
  • Health and safety issues and regulations
  • Installation knowledge processing, measurement devices, and their installation requirements
  • Proficient in software applications (IFS/timesheets/word processing/ spreadsheet
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to provide situation-based solutions
  • Able to follow directions and plans as requested
