Overview

As a Service Writer/Equipment Administrator your primary responsibility is to manage the day-to-day administrative and clerical functions of the Fabrication Department. These functions include maintenance of the work order files and equipment files as well as invoicing. You will represent the Fabrication Department and the company to our customers as their point of contact.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Opening and tracking the status of repair and fabrication work orders
  • Reviewing all work orders to ensure all charges are fair, properly documented, and shop supplies are accounted for
  • Ensuring all work orders are closed and invoiced in an expeditious manner
  • Ordering supplies and materials
  • Quoting repairs, services, and all other work for the fabrication shop
  • Upkeep of equipment information files including records of maintenance performed
  • Review and coding of employee and contractor timesheets
  • General data entry and filing
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in service writing, administration, or parts
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures
  • Experience with Sage 100 ERP an asset
  • Knowledge of Welding/Fabrication Environment is preferred

Working conditions

  • Physical requirements necessary include sitting, standing, and walking for long period of time
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Inside/outside temperatures fluctuate so appropriate layered outerwear should be considered when preparing for activity throughout the property, depending on the season
  • Travel may be necessary. Overtime and weekends may be required

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Service Writer and / or Parts: 2 years (preferred)
