Overview
We are seeking a multi-skilled maker Set Dresser/Fabricator for a Full Time 6 month Contract position supporting our Set Decoration department. This is a physically demanding and creative position at a fast-paced studio within an ever-changing environment. Reporting directly to the HOD of Set Decoration, you’ll have a plethora of tasks and responsibilities. This is an unique opportunity for a passionate creator! Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Supporting the successful execution of set designs within the given time frame which may include painting, constructing, refinishing, fabricating, dressing and buying. All of these skills or ability to perform these skills would be considered a great asset
Support the organization, preparation and execution of a large studio relocation
Support the maintenance of the lock up storage facility and inventory
Support the acquisition or sale of assets including furniture and custom builds
Responsible for on-set support of any and all productions as reasonably assigned
Responsible for any other tasks as reasonably assigned
Requirements:
Must have a growth mindset and learning agility
Ability to work on feet for long hours and lift up to 50lbs
Ability to drive with clean abstract and access to a reliable vehicle on a daily basis
Experience in theatre, film or interior decorating/carpentry, preferred OR
Experience as a set builder or carpenter (on set), preferred OR
Experience as a professional retail merchandiser OR
Scenic sculpting, scenic painting, mold making, upholstery skills would all be amazing assets but not required
