Overview
Previous experience as a set-up person with minimum 2 years brake press experience
Experience in component manufacturing operations
Strong knowledge of fabrication equipment
Good recognition of basic numeric data, parts and material
Ability to read from blueprint drawings
Experience in the use of DSI
Comprehend and deliver verbal communication as well as reading and comprehension of written documentation
Know and understand WHMIS labeling system
Excellent awareness of safety requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receive instructions from Foreman, Supervisor and/or Charge Hand
Set-up of machines as directed by Supervision (Cincinnati, Trumpf, Bystronic, AccurPress)
Review and interpret written documents (Blueprints, SOP’s OMS sheets etc.) including verbal instructions to guide work process
Set-up tooling on machines (brake press, plate roller, punch press and Beckwood hydraulic press). Verify formed parts are to drawing tolerances and are made to print by using various checking instruments (caliper, protractor, micrometer, ruler, square etc.)
Keep pace with production schedule and work within timelines to ensure targeted output
Responsible for the run quantities per the operation sheet
Use of overhead crane and hoist to move material
Work cooperatively with others to ensure optimum efficiency of operations
Maintain a clean work area using 5S methodology
