Badger Welding, Inc. is a well established metal fabricating company. We have been in business for over 30 years working for the restaurant industry. We are adding one permanent position and expanding to meet customer needs. We are looking for experienced applicants only at this time.

Details for Open WELDER/SHEET METAL FABRICATOR Position:

MONDAY – THURSDAY (Off Fri-Sun)

7:00AM-5:30PM daily (Hours may vary depending on job requirements)

40 HRS/WEEK

(REQUIRED) Travel approx. 50% of the time (day travel, occasional overnight)

Occasional overnight projects hours will vary

All major holidays off!

2 weeks PAID TIME OFF per year during 4th of July week and Christmas week after 1st year employed

At least 2 years Experience REQUIRED fabricating & welding, do not have to be currently certified

Weld Test REQUIRED before hiring to determine rate of pay

Valid Driver’s License Required

Applicant must provide and maintain his/her own welding helmet, boots, tools, and toolbox. We will provide welding equipment

The welder/fabricator applicant must be able to demonstrate the following abilities, including but not limited to:

SHOP RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • read and make freehand shop drawings
  • must be able to lift 40 pounds unassisted
  • to read a tape measure
  • basic understanding of math and mechanics
  • to interact with management and fellow employees
  • to practice Quality Inspections on fabricated parts
  • to utilize shop equipment safely and accurately
  • to fabricate, weld, cut, bend, shear, grind, polish using the appropriate tools
  • “on-the-job” training
  • good attitude, work ethic
  • Experience and knowledge TIG welding, MIG welding, and some stick welding 304 stainless steel, A36 steel, and 6061 Aluminum
  • ABILITY TO FABRICATE. I.e. anticipate the process of fabrication, using metal sheets and tubes. Applicant must be able to read a shop drawing, and understand the process of how to fabricate the end part. Fabricators understand how to take a flat sheet or tube of material and utilize it, form it, cut and weld it to create an end product for the customer. Our shop tolerance fabricating by hand are 1/16″. Basic fabrication skills are acceptable.

FIELD RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • not all employees will be “field installers,” but it may be necessary periodically
  • Applicants must be able to lift >50 pounds unassisted
  • make freehand field drawings, read freehand field drawings
  • driving company vehicles responsibly
  • basic understanding of hooking up to, pulling, backing, and disconnecting a 16 ft and/or 30 ft trailer
  • Knowledge of operation of 26,000 lb box truck
  • basic understanding of math and mechanics
  • to interact with management and fellow employees, as well as customers
  • to practice Quality Inspections on installed parts
  • to utilize field equipment safely and accurately
  • “on-the-job” training
  • to fabricate, weld, cut, bend, shear, grind, polish using the appropriate tools
  • good attitude, work ethic
