Advanced Material Handling brings over 40 years of combined experience as well as a true team approach to every opportunity we undertake. Currently, we are looking for a afternoon shift lead Welders/Steel Fabricators at our Abbotsford facility.

Job Description:

  • Open and close shop as required.
  • Go over Job travellers prior to job start up and ensure there is a clear understanding of line items on the traveller.
  • Identify time discrepancies in routing tasks and bring to the Project Coordinators attention Work with the Project Coordinator and QA Coordinator to identify ways to improve production, quality, and safety.
  • Train new employees in AMH’s Safety and Operating Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure production and quality expectations are clearly communicated to the employees.
  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings at shift start up and as well as at shift cross over.
  • Watch, Train & Direct to ensure all welders & helpers are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure that the shop remains clean and organized by utilizing your workers.
  • Collecting timecards and ensuring that they are filled out correctly.
  • Acting as a QC delegate and performing quality control checks as required.
  • Ensure that workstations are clean for the start of next shift.
  • Ensure all materials for Jobs going into production are in production and ready to go.
  • Complete People Analyzer – In all fairness no one is doing this.
  • Ensure the shop tools are maintain in good working order.
  • Ensure required tools to perform the work are ordered if needed.
  • Create to do lists for shop helpers.

Requirements:
-Flux core Welding Experience
-Previous experience in lead role.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $32.00-$38.00 per hour

  • Flux-core Welding: 1 year (preferred)
