CP Distributors has a current opening for an ambitious Shop Assistant/Junior Fabricator in our Surrey branch.

As a Shop Assistant/Junior Fabricator, you will be responsible to:
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse environment by ensuring product is accurately stocked and counted in accordance with our procedures, and cleaning inventory racks of debris and shipping material;
Assist fabricators in the warehouse with accurate preparation of hollow metal doors and pressed steel frames for hardware through error free measuring and templates;
Learn and apply methods and skills in light fabrication of steel doors, frames and various metal products;
Learn to read, understand, and interpret hollow metal door and pressed steel frame shop drawings;
Adhere to all safety standards and procedures.
Your Experience:
Ideally, you bring 1-2 years’ experience assisting in a warehouse environment;
Experience with, or an interest in learning about, fabrication and our products/services with a focus in hollow metal and hardware;
Experience safely operating a forklift is required;
Your Skills:
Ability to work both unsupervised or as part of a team;
Outgoing, friendly, and a quick learner;
Attention to detail with ability to maintain a neat and well-organized work environment;
Collaborate with colleagues across our company, maintaining our close-knit, team-oriented culture.
