Linmark Steel Inc. is a CWB Certified structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and installation company specializing in commercial, industrial, and major infrastructure projects.

We are currently recruiting for Shop Fitters to join our team!

Job Duties:

Fitters are responsible for the layout, fitting, and fabrication of various custom metal projects. They use technical skills, drawings, schematics, specific welding processes and other documentation to maintain quality and meet company standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

· Follow all health and safety rules and regulations as per Linmark Steel Inc.’s policies and procedures.

· Practice and promote safe work practices.

· Ability to layout and fit up stairs, railings, platforms and other miscellaneous items as well as structural steel with minimal supervision

· Operate plasma cutter and Oxy-Acetylene torch safely and effectively

· Use of overhead cranes, forklifts, ladders and other equipment as per company procedures.

· Safe use of all tools, including but not limited to grinders, welders, torches etc.

· Utilize the appropriate welding procedure and on the appropriate welding machine for the project you are working on.

· Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately in all steps within the process of manufacturing.

· Accountable for the proper fit of assigned work within Linmark Steel Inc. or customer tolerances.

· Accurately build sub-assemblies, using temporary bracing as required.

· Keep up with a fast-paced environment, prepared to change jobs as required to suit customer or company requirements.

· Maintain a consistent line of communication between themselves, the Shop Forman and/or workers on opposite shifts.

· Perform other duties outside the normal scope of their daily tasks for the betterment of the company.

Qualifications:

· Some of your own tools (minimum requirement)

· 3- 5+ years fitting experience would be required.

· CWB and/or able to pass CWB testing.

· Experience operating tools and equipment such as lift trucks, overhead cranes, scissor lifts, welding and cutting equipment.

· Safety conscious work habits.

· Accountable and able to work in a team or with minimum supervision.

· Clear understanding of crane rigging and single hoist lifts

· Clear understanding of fit process (layout, Q.A. check, fit, Q.A. check)

· Familiarity with FCAW, GMAW, GTAW processes

· Able to understand and interpret complex blueprints performing lay out work as per engineering drawings, bill of materials and work orders

· Effective communication skills (both written & verbal).

· Accountable and able to work in a team or with minimum supervision.

· Willing to work different shifts and extra hours as required.

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
