Job Title: Shop Laborer / Welder

Reports to: Shop Manager

Position Type: Full Time Hourly

Date: June 2020

Role: This position is responsible for various shop tasks, including grinding and cutting metal parts according to company work orders as well as all other general shop duties assigned.

Job Duties: [core responsibilities]

  • Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, utilizing powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knife to cut work pieces
  • Properly utilize machinery to cut and grind metal pieces
  • Performs general shop clean up to maintain a safe-working environment
  • Use sound judgement and safe work practices by inspecting equipment and tools, performing the appropriate maintenance when needed
  • Completes all other duties & tasks assigned
  • General welding experience or knowledge (preferred)

  • Provide satisfactory evidence of your ability to work in the United States

  • Previous experience as a general shop laborer, or like experience in a shop environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Ability to operate electrical motorized equipment with close proximity, close quarters
  • Worker is subject to environmental conditions both inside and outside
  • Worker is required to work in shop conditions with aisles or passageways.
  • Climbing, Ascending or descending ladders, using feet, legs and/or hand and arms
  • Lifting objects from a lower to higher position weighing 50 lbs.
  • Grasping with fingers to lift product
  • Worker will be exposed to loud noises that may require ear protection

Training Requirement:

  • Operation of various machinery, including forklift operation

Compensation:

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $11.50 per hour
