What will you do?
In this role, you are responsible for monitoring manufacturing flow and identifying requirements to meet quality and productivity goals assigned by the Supervisor.
Promote a safe work environment and the safety of the team
Effectively lead the team with the direction of the department supervisor
Work from process sheets, blueprints, or other written/verbal instructions given by the supervisor to perform production tasks.
Maneuver large, awkward, or heavy parts manually or with a crane.
Inspect welds throughout the process and use grinding tools when necessary
Setup, operate and tend machines used to process components.
Assemble parts to blueprint specs using hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools.
Maintain machine and work area in a clean and safe manner.
Check and inspect operation against predetermined tolerances.
Work in other areas or departments as assigned.
Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday – Thursday, 4:30 PM to 4:00 AM
Schedule is subject to change to meet business needs
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for an engaged individual with a well-rounded mechanical knowledge background in a custom fabrication business. A definite willingness to learn all aspects of the methods used, enjoy working with others, and continue to make Martin great.
Ability to work well with a team and motivate others
MIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with Flux Core welding a plus
Experience with grinding tools, drill press, and ironworker a plus
Background in assembly or installation and have good mechanical aptitude.
Simple oral communication skills; ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English and complete simple logs and reports in English
Physically able to handle heavy items including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning components
Work scheduled hours and comply with the company’s timekeeping policy and all other company policies
Ability to consistently stand for an entire shift
Well-rounded mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability a plus
Willingness to learn all aspects of methods used at Martin Sprocket & Gear
