CanWest is seeking a new Shop Mechanic at our Calgary location.

We are currently seeking candidates for rental company mechanics. You would mainly be working on small power tools to chop saws and skid steers. As one of Western Canada’s leading concrete cutting and coring companies, we can solve any concrete problem. We provide concrete cutting and coring services for projects of all sizes, from large industrial projects to small residential jobs. We handle walls, floors, foundations, slabs and curbs. Essential responsibilities and job duties to include

  • Repairing small construction equipment and tools
  • Checking engine oil in vehicles and equipment
  • Servicing fleet vehicles, equipment, and immediate work area
  • Maintenance of vehicles and equipment
  • Miscellaneous fabricating
  • Welding, electrical, and trailers

Qualifications and Requirements

  • NO TICKET REQUIRED for this position but is preferred
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must have a class 5 license or greater
  • Must have your own tools
  • Welding will be considered an asset
  • Preferred experience in wiring breaks and small engines repairs
