We are currently looking for a Full Time Shop (Sheet Metal) Foreman Supervisor to join our team!

Roles and Responsibilities

Ensure that projects are built according to approved plans and specifications and that efficiency in labour and materials maintain high quality standards

Review, maintain and update the shop fabrication schedule and ensure milestone and completion dates are met for each project

Oversee the care and maintenance of company, shop equipment, tools

Review supplier packing slips and invoices against the purchase orders and report any discrepancies to the Project Manager or the accounting department

Manage hourly employees as required to complete all projects in consultation with the Operations Manager and Project Manager(s)

Manage, maintain, approve and submit hourly time cards with all necessary details for job costing purposes

Prepare production shop change orders to be signed by project owner or representative when substantial changes are encountered during fabrication

Assess Lead Hand and crews’ readiness for their role at the onset of each shift

Coach and mentor the crew on the project safe work practices, quality workmanship, productivity and schedule

Meet and review any issues or items found to be out of scope with the Project Manager(s)

Running and programming Trimble-Vulcan plasma computer and table

Follow all company policies and procedures including Trotter and Morton Group of Companies Health and Safety program

Perform other duties as required

Required Skills

Sheet Metal Journeyperson ticket is required

Experience Running and programming Trimble-Vulcan Plasma Computer and Table

Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Professional, approachable and customer-service oriented

Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy

Good mathematical and analytical skills

Ability to prioritize workloads and utilize planning & time management

Strong oral and written communication skills

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook

Understanding of Scheduling Software Reports

Required Experience

Previous experience in a fabrication shop is an asset

Team player with a pro-active attitude

Ability of running a Plasma Computer and table

Interest in pipefitting or welding would be an asset

Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in fabrication is required

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a team leadership role is required

Field experience in industrial or commercial construction is considered a valuable asset
