Overview

Phillips Signs is a local sign company proudly servicing CENLA for over 84 years. Located in Alexandria, LA, we are seeking an experienced full time fabricator / welder / installer. *Starting pay above average and dependent on ability with guaranteed raises.

Responsibilities
*

• Fabricate metal cabinets, structures, channel letters, bases, and/or other sign components from shop drawings within a production setting

• Work with a variety of metals, wood, plastic and vinyl, seeing the project through from start to finish

• Reviews plans and diagrams to ensure accuracy of cutting of materials to create sign parts

• Plans, prepares and uses materials to be cut in a matter to keep waste to a minimum

• Operates metal cutting equipment to accurately cut materials to job specifications

• Operates welding equipment to weld sign parts together

• Implements and maintains quality control and safety during material handling, cutting, and welding

• Sands, grinds, polishes, and cleans cut materials

• Bends and shapes sign parts by hand or by using brakes according to job specifications

• Drills, rivets, screws, or adheres sign parts together

• Wires LED and fluorescent lighting into signage cabinets per the engineered specifications

• Work with engineering staff to clarify information and obtain design changes as needed

• Assist in installation of signs at customer job sites as needed

• Operates crane or fork lift for moving and positioning materials and supplies

• Maintains a safe working environment that is clean and orderly

• Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

• Must have valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
• Industry Experience preferred
• Capable of occasional medium lifting
• Detail oriented mindset
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• High School or College Diploma NOT required.
• Occasional out of town travel
