Overview

Modular Fabrication Inc. is one of the largest steel fabrication facilities in New Brunswick, Canada. We specialize in steel bridge girders, tanks, material handling equipment and heavy structural construction.

We are currently seeking applicants for the position of ‘Ironworker’. The project involves the installation of bolted tanks and structural steel for a mining project in Northeast Ontario, Canada.

This job will require staying at a construction camp while on site (20 days on and 10 days off or 14 days on and 14 days off, other shifts may be available). Work hours will be 70 to 77 hours per week. Overtime is after 40 hours per week.

Positions: Ironworker

Some responsibilities include:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Work in a safe manner
  • Have some welding experience
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Must be able to operate aerial platform
  • Must be comfortable working at heights up to 30 meters
  • Align, weld or bolt steel assemblies in place
  • Assemble and erect prefabricated metal structures
  • Rigging according to best practices and blueprints
  • Signal crane operator to position steel assemblies
  • Install bolts and torque
  • Other duties as required

Experience / Education:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Ironworker
  • Must have a good safety training background at Mining or other industrial sites
  • 3 years’ experience erecting structural steel
  • Experience erecting tanks is considered an asset
  • Completion of college program related to Ironworker
  • Fall arrest and aerial platform training is required

All Travel expenses to and from mine site are paid by Modular.
