THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re currently seeking Spooling/Vessel Welders & Bench Fitters for our Day Shift (6:30am-2:30pm) and Night Shift (Mon-Thurs- 4:30pm-2:30am)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of all quality requirements in accordance with ASME and API policy standards.
  • Ability to use hand tools and applicable shop machines safely and correctly.
  • Ability to read and interpret welding symbols.
  • Ability to use basic algebra, geometry and trigonometry to calculate angles and component layout techniques.
  • Able to determine appropriate welding equipment or method to use based on job requirements.
  • Ability to understand manufacturing sequence in a spooling fabrication shop.
  • Must be trained to safely operate an overhead crane.
  • Proficient in using a variety of welding equipment and proper procedures (MIG,TIG, etc.).
  • Experienced in using electrical or manual tools (saws, square, calibers, etc.).
  • Proficient in a variety of welding processes i.e., SMAW, GMAW, FCAW.
  • Experienced in using electrical or manual tools (saws, square, grinders, etc.).
  • Must use provided PPE (face-shield, gloves, etc.) to perform job in accordance with safety standards.
  • Professional Certification in AWS welding preferred.
  • Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds. Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move, and walk long distances and in small areas with many moving pieces/parts.
  • B-Pressure certified;
  • Read, interpret and work off vessel drawings, GA and P&ID’s;
  • Laying out vessels, cutting for nozzle install, back-weld/fit all types of vessel internals including installation of choke tubes/baffles.
  • Fit, tack and reclaim vessels of all sizes, schedules and material grades, socket weld.
  • Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, oxy acetylene torches, grinders, band saw, drill press, hand tools and working off ladders when needed.
  • Prefer candidates to have 3-5 years of welding and/or bench fitting experience, or a journeymen certificate.
  • Minimum of 2 years of pressure vessel fitting and/ or welding experience in the gas compression industry;
  • Ability to work in a team, strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, coaching, leadership and listening abilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to work in a group/team environment as well as independently.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
