Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Fabrication and Stamping Engineer to join our team. This position can be remote in the following cities (Milton, Edmonton, Airdrie, Burlington) with 25% travel:

Position Overview:
This position will lead strategic programs and productivity improvements as a subject matter expert in metal fabrication and stamping processes used in ES-A internal and external manufacturing.

In this function you will:
Lead and mentor the 30+ manufacturing sites on world class manufacturing & productivity improvement

Become ES-A subject matter expert (SME) for fabrication and stamping operations.

Cognizant of stamping operations across ESA and suppliers; leads technology roadmap for process development

Maintains awareness of leading process and material technologies and trends and applicability to ESA operations

Establishes and provides design for manufacturing guidelines to support new product development

Leads value engineering, DOE, and RIE events to improve part cost, quality, and performance.

Maintains tooling design standards for both internal and external operations

Develops and supports portfolio of improvement programs across ESA stamping operations including materials, machines, tooling and process controls

Interfaces with ESA fabrication and stamping suppliers to assist supply chain staff with supplier development and performance

Develops and maintains skills requirements for stamping/ fabrication staff across ESA

Utilize strong industrial and manufacturing engineering skills, along with lean tools, to drive productivity improvements.

Utilization of strong problem-solving tools to resolve existing mfg. challenges

Coordinates best practice implementation between multiple facilities

Manage capital and expense spending for assigned projects

Prepare financial justification for projects in support of CAR analysis

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

Minimum 7 years’ experience of engineering experience with metal fabrication & stamping

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual, English, and Spanish

Experience with CIF, Lean, Six Sigma, Quality Management Systems, and EHS implementations associated with fabrication & stamping operations

Expertise in materials, tools, machines, and approaches for different fabrication and stamping technologies
